NEW KIWIS // TESTIMONIALS

Finding employment in New Zealand may seem like a daunting task, but increasingly more New Zealand businesses are drawing from the rich talent-pool available overseas.

To gain a competitive edge, many New Zealand businesses now recognise the need for diversity; so adding immigrants or expat kiwis to their workforces, with different perspectives and skills developed overseas, makes good sense. This is particularly true if they plan to export into international markets — having employees who know the local markets, customs and languages can be invaluable. In fact, almost 45 per cent of working-age people in New Zealand’s biggest city, Auckland, were born overseas, making it a real melting pot of cultures.

At New Kiwis, our purpose is to connect with expat New Zealanders and migrants, currently living overseas, who would like to find work in New Zealand. We advise them of the correct immigration procedures and assist them to make informed choices by providing informational resources and support. It’s all about smoothing the, often stressful, process of finding employment in New Zealand and helping overseas job hunters make a successful transition into fulfilling employment.

"I have good news-- I got a great job offer from Auckland Council. I started last week, and so far, so good.  I have a lovely office with views of the city.  Thank you for all your help.  Though I got to your workshop towards the end of my job search, you made me feel more confident in knowing my rights and understanding the Kiwi workplace".

Thanks and best regards, Katherine Dace, Planning & Performance Manager, Auckland Council

“Thank you so much for your support for my job application, I got the job. You are warm, friendly and non - judge-mental.  You make us feel not alone by ourselves any more on our journey to find a job in New Zealand as migrants.  It makes huge difference to us that we know that someone like you are there for us.  For those migrant job seekers still out there, stay positive, there are groups of people like the Chamber who will give us support and confidence to find suitable jobs under this extreme difficult time”.
