NEW KIWIS // TESTIMONIALS

Employment in New Zealand can be difficult to find if you’re an expat who’s been away for a while or a new immigrant. It would be wonderful if there was some magical job finder available to make the task easier. Well, perhaps there is.

New Kiwis is a Chamber of Commerce initiative designed to tap into the wealth of international talent living in New Zealand and are looking for employment.

You’ll be happy to know that many New Zealand businesses appreciate the benefits of diversity within their organisations. It can be a useful asset having people on staff that speak a foreign language and understand a different culture, particularly if they’re targeting international markets.

At New Kiwis, we connect employers with expat kiwis and new immigrants. We provide valuable information and resources intended to ease the burden of finding employment in New Zealand.

So, register on our website and view our listings. Perhaps we are that magical job finder you’ve been wishing for.

"I've just been in Auckland for 3 months, on the 2nd month that I got here I heard the New Kiwi Career Success workshop by a friend of mine. The workshop covered all aspect of the job search techniques that I needed to know. It is so different from where I come from, such as cold calling which I would never thought of doing before. My confidence was built up greatly and I registered on newkiwis.co.nz and let the potential employers see my profile. After 2 weeks time, the Chamber contacted me and saying there's a job opportunity for someone who can speak both English and Mandarin and I was introduced to the Employer and was helped to prepare for the interview. This role was exactly what I was looking for and takes advantage of my language and communication skills. After one month I have now been offered the role in a full time position!!
I start on 16th Jan next year, I've signed the contract and I am so happy I will be continuing doing the Chinese Client Services role. I want to thank you again for all your hard work on helping me getting this job and we will keep in touch! I do hope other Chinese migrants can use the service and workshop that I've been through".
Best Regards, Jessica Ma, Kiwi Concern, Chinese Client Services Officer

"Thankyou so much for helping me update my CV and cover according to the NZ market. I had applied for an admin job in a lighting company on Friday. They needed a candidate with an architectural background. I had the interview today morning and I got the job! They just called me now. Thankyou for all your help. Really appreciate it".
Thanks again!

"I have good news-- I got a great job offer from Auckland Council. I started last week, and so far, so good.  I have a lovely office with views of the city.  Thank you for all your help.  Though I got to your workshop towards the end of my job search, you made me feel more confident in knowing my rights and understanding the Kiwi workplace".
Thanks and best regards, Katherine Dace, Planning & Performance Manager, Auckland Council

“Thank you so much for your support for my job application, I got the job. You are warm, friendly and non - judge-mental.  You make us feel not alone by ourselves any more on our journey to find a job in New Zealand as migrants.  It makes huge difference to us that we know that someone like you are there for us.  For those migrant job seekers still out there, stay positive, there are groups of people like the Chamber who will give us support and confidence to find suitable jobs under this extreme difficult time”.
